Food for Thought Friday-Summer 2017

Food for Thought Friday

Summer Edition

Hey Besties!!

Bonjour la gang!!

How is it going??

It's TGIF, what is the plan for the night?

Looking for a nice place to eat? If you are in the Toronto area, here are my recommendations.

Here are my top 5 Sushi places that will make your mouth salivate.

5. Sushi Bong.
Are you a student? Frugal? Do you want to have a good bang for your buck? Well this is the place. Great generous portions, fresh and at a reasonable price. Most plates are under $10. Many options are shareable. Great if you are on-the-go like me 😊 . The restaurant is like a hole in the wall, small and cozy. There is an outdoor seating area attached to the condos across from the restaurant. Come and bring your appetite.

Location: 5 Northtown Way, North York, ON M2N 7A1
Price: perfect for your wallet, reasonable, student-budget, close early- $

4. Nolbu.

Are you interested in eating uptown? Then come to Yonge and Sheppard. This hidden gem is a couple blocks east of the main intersection, on a side street. Fresh sashimi, oysters and California rolls (try the Toronto Roll). The staff is pleasant, fast-service, great in house Makgeolli.

Location: 3 Elmhurst Ave., North York, ON M2N 1R3
Price: It’s it is reasonable and open until 4:00 a.m.- $$

3. JaBistro

Next we will go to downtown Toronto in an area formerly known as the party district beside the original comedy club, you will find JaBistro. Do not be fooled by the small black box exterior, inside you will find exquisite Japanese cuisine. Great Japanese cuisine with Japanese chefs and servers. The sashimi tastes fresh, as if it was caught from the ocean that day. The staff is friendly and the place has a classy, chic atmosphere. Make reservations, have a glass of Ozeki and enjoy the evening.

Location: 222 Richmond St. W., Toronto, ON M5V 1W4
Price: this is great for a date night, pricier but worth it, authentic feel-$$$

2. Hosu Bistro

This is one of my personal favorite spots. They have one of the Best Sushi pizzas. I was in love. They have a Chinese chef and a few Chinese dishes. Not as authentic as the other places are. The place has a casual atmosphere, great place for lunch with friends or co-workers.

Location: 254 Queen St. W, Toronto, ON M5V 1Z8
Price: great location close to Much Music studio and Scotia Bank movie theater, close early by 10:30 p.m. -$$

1. Kintaro Izakaya

Are you an night owl? Do you crave a late night snack? This is my number 1 spot. Please go to any Izakaya, such as Kinka or Nakayoshi Izakaya, and you will be pleased. Trust me, if you are in Toronto, you must try one of those locations. It’s a great casual chic atmosphere - woody style décor, small booths and benches, real cozy. It is like a hide away from the city life. You will love it. Check the location at the address below.

Location: 459 Church St., Toronto, ON M4Y 2C5
Price: I would say this is the spot for great for young professionals and millennials. It is mid range, Open late until 3:00 a.m.-$$

So to all my besties, my foodies, this is my list of places I went to and enjoyed. There are way more places for sure. Please comment below of your favorite sushi spots or if you have any recommendations. Don’t be shy.

Bisou Besties,
